Who are we?

My husband and I created a company called LOCOL (Local Communities On-Line) to better serve the Barrhaven community by using the internet to “Make Connections That Matter”.

We wanted to create a place to that would encourage a sense of community. A place where people can come together with the help of technology. By providing a community event board, interactive maps and services taliored for local business and commmunity group we strive to bring people together. We encourage the use of internet and are committed to advocating this in our community. Our hope is that you will find BarrhavenLive.ca a fun, simple and useful way to help navigate through your daily lives.

Why Barrhaven?

Barrhaven is growing up fast. Not unlike our children the toddler, teenager and young adult. With its explosive growth, we started to find ourselves slowly losing the benefits of being a smaller community with a handful of shops and services. An idea about using the internet to maintain a sense of community one day turned into a business. As residents and business owners in this growing community we were motivated to see if we could make a difference.
